Who are we ?

A dynamic team active for more than 50 years

Explos-nature is a non-profit organization founded in 1955 by Mr. Léo Brassard. Our organization privileges the discovery of natural sciences by the five senses, in the fabulous decor of the St. Lawrence, from its forest banks to the borders of its water. To observe, listen to, touch and taste the St. Lawrence, to learn and discover its secrets and become aware of the importance to safeguard it, this is the main goal of Explos-Nature. Our organization proposes several educational programs on the St. Lawrence adapted to its customers. These programs are addressed mainly to elementary and high school students, cegeps and universities. Explos-nature also initiates research projects in collaboration with various ministries, universities and local partners in order to understand the interaction of ecosystems and to offer our customers scientific vulgarisation of primary quality. Thanks to the competence and experience of our naturalists, our organization obtained contracts of interpretation on the sites of the Saguenay St. Lawrence Marine Park. The teaching expertise of Explos-Nature has allowed the realization of a good number of activities of interpretation, educational material and classroom kits.

“To disclose, mainly to the children of school age, the natural environments and people who attend them, by using a scientific approach privileging the direct observation, contact and experimentation, in order to stimulate the intellectual curiosity, thus ensuring to all of those implicated in this step a better control of their own life”.
